introduction

The Former Kobe Raw Silk Testing Center is an important feature on the landscape which represents the new port pier west, as well as a valuable inheritance from modern industrialization which tells the history of modern-day Kobe. Moreover, it was an important base from which the culture and industry of Japan was transmitted to the world.

This report is a collection of opinions regarding the usage of the Former Kobe Raw Silk Testing Center, which is to be developed as Design Creative Center KOBE (tentative name), a base for creation and exchange, and the symbol of Design City Kobe.
